I'm trying to emerge --update -deep wprld, but I've got some blocking pagcakges

Code:
tux mark # emerge --update --deep world --pretend

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[blocks B     ]<x11-libs/openmotif-2.1.30-r13 (is blocking x11-libs/motif-config-0.9)
[blocks B     ]=x11-libs/openmotif-2.2.3-r6 (is blocking x11-libs/motif-config-0.9)
[blocks B     ]media-libs/libungif (is blocking media-libs/giflib-4.1.3-r1

any ideas what I should do now

Thanks

MG

Unmerge them an try again.
If an other package depends on them they will be remerged on "emerge -uD" (maybe an other version).

What it's asking you to do is
Code:
emerge -C x11-libs/openmotif media-libs/libungif

But before you go and do that look at what else is going on. Is there an update to openmotif that you need to emerge before updating motif-config? Just unmerging openmotif would probably be bad if you didn't have a replacement.
