1. Prepare a kernel.You may have a linux host or just download the kernel I'm using.(My kernel only supports xfs and ext2 filesystem,no reiserfs...)

Get the 2.6.11 linux kernel source ,the colinux patch,and the squashfs patch,then

Code:
make menuconfig
make vmlinux

Make sure you have the initrd ,ramdisk support in the kernel.
Copy the kernel_source_dir/vmlinux(it's a bare kernel) to some dir of your windows host.

2. Download the install-x86-minimal-2005.1.iso,copy the isolinux/gentoo.igz to some dir.

3. Start the colinux daemon with this config.xml.

Code:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<colinux>
<block_device index="0" path="\DosDevices\e:\coLinux\install-x86-minimal-2005.1.iso" enabled="true" />
<block_device index="1" path="\DosDevices\e:\coLinux\gentoo\swap_device" enabled="true" />
<cofs_device index="0" type="flat" path="\DosDevices\e:\coLinux\boot" enabled="true" />
<image path="vmlinux" />
<initrd path="gentoo.igz" />
<bootparams>root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc loop=/livecd.squashfs  cdroot=/dev/cobd0</bootparams>
<memory size="64" />
<network index="0" type="tap" />
</colinux>

Yes,you need the cdroot=/dev/cobd0 .Then do the gentoo setup.
