When I try to emerge some things I get this error:
Code:
grep: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/libstdc++.la' is not a valid libtool archive

!!! ERROR: x11-libs/gtk+-2.6.7 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 85, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

This also happens with many other things i have tried.
Ive looked through portage and found libstdc++-v3 but it is masked so im not sure if it is safe. Anyone know anything about this?

Have you switched versions of GCC recently? If so, you could be in for a long night (happened to me a few weeks ago X_X). Right now, does the file /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/libstdc++.la actually exist? I think that the place to start would be by running revdep-rebuild. This should fix some broken libraries (it also may take a long time depending on your situation)

Edit: Somehow missed the last line of your post, sorry. I've got that package installed (part of the mishap a few weeks ago) and it's been working fine on my system. Just my $0.02
