If you want to be able to boot your mac mini, powerbook,... with the 2.6.13 linux kernel, read this thread on LKML and apply the given patch.

This is for the machines with ATI cards. It doesn't help my Nvidia equipped powerbook boot. Not that it was advertised to do so, but...

Thx BobDylan! Worked perfectly on my PB 15 with ATi GPU.

Does anybody if this patch is going to be merged into the next release (2.6.13.1)?

It will be eventually, but I'm not sure when since it needs to be tested against other arches as well since the change was initially made to work around an x86 issue.

This looks like the patch that will make it into the kernel, does it fix the problem?

I followed the original patch and it worked fine on my iBook G4 1GHz (which of course didn't work before the patch on 2.6.13).
I will repost (or edit this) after testing this other patch and undoing the first.

UPDATE: I undid the first patch and followed the one just above my post and it worked aswell (same hardware). Not sure which is the better one but all is well either way!
UPDATE 2: Just talked to JoseJX, the first patch breaks x86 so go for the second one.
