What are you guys doing for sleep on a powerbook 12" 1.3 GHz. I have tried almost everything with the 2.6.12 and 2.6.13 kernel and cann't just get it to work. I was able to compile the suspend2-sources and get it to go into hibernte but it gets stuck after that, at the prompt

Code:
Software Suspend 2.1.9.9: Swapwriter: signature found.
Software Susment 2.1.99: Suspending enabled

thanks guys in advance

Hi

I am a Pb 1.5 GHz 12".
I try software suspend 2 2.2-rc5 with a kernel 2.6.13 and It doesn't work (It write the image on the swap and just after stop the suspend process and then the laptop freeze).
So, I use swsusp in the 2.6.13 with the hibernate script and it works well (The only problem is that I must restart alsasound and pbbuttonsd after the sleep, is someone has a solution for this problem ?).

I really have no clue how to make it work either using swsup or swsup2. I followed all the documentation available and I am still getting stuck on that message. I even tried the suspend2-source-2.6.12, vanilla-2.6.13 with suspend2 patch (from website), gentoo-source-2.6.13 with patch from website. And I had no luck.

Are y'all trying to get your iBooks to sleep, as in "suspend to RAM" or hibernate, as in "suspend to disk"?

Sleep works great on my iBook G4 1.2GHz. I'm running 2.6.12. No idea about hibernate. In addition to configuring support for sleep in the kernel, you have to emerge pbbuttonsd and add it to your default runlevel.

I have not played around with swusp on ppc, although it worked pretty well on my old P4, which I sold to get money to buy my IBook.

DrZoidberg:
The nVidia chipset in the 12" powerbook doesn't support sleep yet, so software suspend is really the only option for these machines.

so only swsusp will work and not swsusp2. I have tried swsusp before but I will try it again just to make sure I am not missing something.

btw. what command do you invoke to suspend the computer??
