Hi,
I have a serious problem while emerging kde
Code:
# emege -av kde

These are the packages that I would merge, in orger:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B     ] =kde-base/khotkeys-3.4* (is blocking kde-base/kdebase-3.4.1-r1)
[blocks B     ] =kde-base/kcminit-3.4* (is blocking kde-base/kdebase-3.4.1-r1)
[blocks B     ] =kde-base/kdesu-3.4* (is blocking kde-base/kdebase-3.4.1-r1)
[blocks B     ] =kde-base/khelpcenter-3.4* (is blocking kde-base/kdebase-3.4.1-r1)
[blocks B     ] =kde-base/kdebase-data-3.4* (is blocking kde-base/kdebase-3.4.1-r1)
[blocks B     ] =kde-base/kcontol-3.4* (is blocking kde-base/kdebase-3.4.1-r1)
[blocks B     ] =kde-base/kdm-3.4* (is blocking kde-base/kdebase-3.4.1-r1)
[ebuild  N    ] =dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.20

 [...]

this is not my 1st time installing kde, but i never had any problems. I don't know where these packages from and what to do.

This is my recent /var/lib/portage/world
Code:
dev-python/psyco
sys-libs/glibc
sys-kernel/linux-headers
www-client/links
sys-devel/gettext
sys-power/cpufreqd
kde-base/kdm
sys-fs/udev
sys-process/vixie-cron
net-wireless/ipw2200
sys-boot/grub
sys-apps/slocate
net-misc/dhcpcd
sys-fs/sysfsutils
dev-util/ccache
sys-apps/coldplug
app-admin/syslog-ng
app-editor/nano
app-arch/gzip
sys-kernel/gentoo-sources
sys-apps/pcmcia-cs
dev-java/sun-jdk
sys-apps/hotplug

thx for any help

Installing KDE >= 3.4

More recent KDE versions (from 3.4 onwards) are presented as a plethora of split ebuilds, making it a tad more difficult to know what to install and what not. Gentoo does provide a few meta packages that will pull in a certain amount of KDE packages for you:

* If you want a full-blown KDE installation, install kde-meta. This package will pull in all KDE applications as dependencies.
* If you want a basic KDE installation, install kdebase-startkde. You can always install additional KDE applications when you want.
