Hi,

I have this weird network problem that seems to only effect emerge, and a search of the forums has not turned anything up.

During an emerge of any length (more than one or two packages) the IP number of the mirror that I use (mirror.gentoo.no at the moment, but I have tried a few and it has happened with them all) changes to 1.0.0.0

My system is an Athlon Sempron 2500+ with 1Gb RAM, nvidia graphics card and audigy 2 soundcard. Of particular note, I have a 3com 3c905 pci ethernet card which mounts on /eth0 but I dont use and an on-board sis ethernet that I do - this is on /eth1 (as a side note, if anyone knows how I can change this to the other way round I would be grateful) My connection to the internet is handled by a D-Link DSL-605-GT firewall/router.

My output from emerge --info is as follows:

Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/x86/2005.1, gcc-3.3.6, glibc-2.3.5-r1, 2.6.12-gentoo-r10 i686)

Really? No one at all?

*bumps*

One other thing I should have mentioned is that if I ping the mirror during the emerge process then I dont have any problems...
