what's the strange command of "cc"? Just cannot find where to fix this.

I am a n00b. Only a few years with linux so take this advice with a grain of salt. (read - look at more information on this prior to trying what I say) LOL.

Having said that I ran into the same issue during my install. As I recall you have to perform the python installation first.

I am not sure, but i think that is something that helped me.

As for something that will save you a lot of headache, if you have a failed emerge, you can do a --resume with emege. This will pick up the LAST emerge that you performed.

emerge --resume


this saved me lots of time when emerges failed.

I hope this points you in the right direction.
