Can anyone help me out here.

What network driver does the mac mini networkcard need?

I get the following error @ boot:

Code:
Starting eth0
           Bringing up eth0
           192.168.1.3
           eth0 does not exist

Or better yet, for a newbee, post a vanilla .config for kernel-2.6.12 that loads all HW devices, frame-buffer and the needed FS drivers (HFS/mac mapping) drivers for the mini :)

Cheers

Try the "lspci" command to see what you have for hardware.

I think a lot of macs use the Sun GEM ethernet chip.

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Gentoo on PPC, you'll probably get more help here.

Have you tried setting the clock? What happens when you do?

It works for me (on a powerbook 12", which is probably fairly similar to a mini in this respect). I don't do anything more than enable RTC in the kernel and run hwclock like this:

Code:
# hwclock --utc --set --date="date time"
# hwclock -s

Press / and then type what you're looking for in menuconfig, in this case, RTC.

Check this thread in the forum for a .config
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-359606-highlight-mac+mini+config.html

Keep in mind that these forums and google are your friends: it never hurts to search around a bit.
