Hello,
This is the second time I try to install gentoo on my amd64 (32bit system). On stage 2-3 the emerge --emtytree system always fails with:

unable to execute i386-pc-linux-gnu-gcc: no such file or directory
error: "i386-pc-linux-gnu-gcc" failed with exit status 1

what does this mean? I did all by the book and have another system running gentoo but this problem is new to me...
Thanks for any help...

KTA

The Handbook says to, besides it is IMHO better form to emerge the entire system all at once to ensure there are no hidden out of date packages.
