Hmm... Six months after installing Gentoo on my main main I thought I'd take a careful look at system updates.

I ran emerge -upvD just to see what would emerge, and everything looked kosher.
When I ran emerge -uD things hummed along fine, installing 100 of 451 new updates.

Until it crashed bitterly with dbus. Here is the text:

i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc: dbus_bindings.c: No such file or directory
i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc: no input files

Error: sys-apps/dbus-0.23.4-r1 failed.
Function src_compile, Line 106, Exitcode 2
(no error message)

How do I proceed?
