Hi everyone,

Im setting up my mirror raid with raidtab, mdadm.conf etc..

Everything works like a charm, but when i start to make the RAID one of the harddrives drops out...

What log should i look in to see what the drive does?

Both of the drives are like this:

whitebox ~ # lsscsi
[1:0:0:0] disk LaCie Big Disk G298 /dev/sda
[2:0:0:0] disk LaCie Big Disk G298 /dev/sdb

and my mdadm --detail /dev/md0

/dev/md0:
Version : 00.90.01
Creation Time : Wed Oct 5 23:02:58 2005
Raid Level : raid1
Array Size : 312496256 (298.02 GiB 320.00 GB)
Device Size : 312496256 (298.02 GiB 320.00 GB)

Preferred Minor : 0
Persistence : Superblock is persistent

Update Time : Thu Oct 6 11:54:48 2005
State : clean, degraded, recovering
Active Devices : 1
Working Devices : 2
Failed Devices : 0
Spare Devices : 1

Rebuild Status : 15% complete

UUID : fc8f689e:5a235d5b:fb12d38b:ffd9b409
Events : 0.6

Number Major Minor RaidDevice State
0 0 0 - removed
1 8 17 1 active sync /dev/sdb1

2 8 1 0 spare rebuilding /dev/sda1

This is after i did a: mdadm /dev/md0 -r /dev/sda1 && mdadm /dev/md0 -a /dev/sda1

Cheers

Stevns
