Hey everyone,
Im learning Japanese, and was wondering how I could get firefox
to show the actual characters (like on japanese sites), instead of boxes
with little numbers in. Thank you!

Well, installing a Japanese font would be a good start.

But even better, read and follow the instructions in this HOWTO: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-263174-highlight-.html

This should enable you to read Japanese as well as type it.

Additionally, for Firefox, there's a Japanese dictionary plugin called Moji (http://moji.mozdev.org)

Also, run a 'emerge -S japanese' or similar to find out about more applications that might be suitable for learners.
