Ive tried several Distros. At one time I had FC 4 running on it. When I tried to install Gentoo. I apparently deleted all the partitions on the disk. Including the MAC New-world partition. Now nothing will load on it. I want to install Mandrake 10 but I get to where it asks me to make a selection from where im installing. I choose CD-rom and I get an error message. It detects my devices, but once it starts loadin the program into memory I get a: Fatal error finishing initialization. Error message. I have tried Debian, Mandrake, and even tried to put FC 4 back on and nothing works. Please help.

PS:I dont have a Mac OS disk. Thats why im trying to get Linux on it.

Have you tried following the Gentoo on PPC part of the Gentoo Handbook?

Best regards

I figured it out. The dvd-rom drive is deffective. I had to rig it so that I could boot from a USB cd-rom.
