Hello

I have different partition on my iBook G4. Now one of them get full, so I need to restructure them. I thought, I can save the content of the full partition and the content of another partition.
Then with mac-fdisk put both together and afterwards distribute the space new.

But I need my iBook, so I don't want to run risk of destroying my system. Is this method ok, or can some problem occure (e.g. other partition get damaged, one partition cannot be saved completely....)

Thanks for your answers

Yeah that could easily work. And it could easily fail.

I did something similar recently and used the script described here to help me backup my system first. If I were you, I'd do the backup first, then play with how best to repartition your system, so if and when you screw it up you can easily go back to the way it was.

Also, I've found that having an easy way to backup the system encourages aggressiveness and creativitiy in maintaining my Gentoo system. I try new things all of the time now. In fact it is so liberating to me as a computer user that I've gone ahead and set up my system as two separate partitions. I get Gentoo running on one, I rsync it to the other, then boot from that. I emerge -Duaqfoqkjqe2 and see if it works. If it does, I rsync back to the original, and then boot from that. And so on.

Gentoo rocks.
