PostPosted: Tue Nov 15, 2005 9:57 pm    Post subject: OpenOffice 2.0 binary? Reply with quote

I'm running Gentoo on my iBook, and I want to use OpenOffice 2.0. I'm trying for weeks now, but OpenOffice just wouldn't compile, and honestly, I'm tired of it. It always compiles 8+ hours only to fail sometimes in between. So I'd kindly ask if someone has successfully compiled OOo 2.0 on a G4 PPC and could share a binary package of it!? Preferably, with +kde enabled, but I'd be happy about ANY OOo build. I could even provide you some FTP space to upload it. I really hope somebody can help me, I use OOo a lot and I really need it on my notebook too, but it's a littl frustrating to wait several hours every time when it fails again to compile.

Anybody?

Your topic is duplicated... you should search before posting!

This is the link of the topic, you can see my version of ooo2 with +kde USE.

Please search another time!

Damn I've seen this post and I even already tried this OOo build with all useflags enabled, somehow I missed your post. Thanks a lot! I could put this on my FTP if you want, I have plenty space (and much more bandwith ;-) ).

I'm sorry... I thinked this language was the most used... :-)

If you want you can put it on your FTP mirror, is a good idea :-)

:-( I'm afraid your openoffice package didn't work here :-( I get the same error that "no suitable windowing system could be found". I guess this has to do with the fact that you and this other guy have gnome AND kde in your USE flags ... somehow this seems to confuse OOo. Thanks for your help though.

So I'm calling for help again - is there anybody with an KDE-only OOo package for G4 iBooks out there????

If you're having compilation trouble, it would be nice if you could file a bug or at least let us know here on the forums what problems you're having so we can help you and fix it for others.

Sorry, I don't have a binary package for you.
