Hello,

I installed OpenOffice 1.1.4 from sources a long time ago. I wanted to update to 2.0 but it's still not showing up in my list of packages that can be updated :-( If I do:

emerge -s openoffice

Has the name of the package for 2.0 changed?

Thanks for your help.

It's not yet in stable branch. To unmask it you've to put
Code:
app-office/openoffice ~x86

(or whichever your arch is) in /etc/portage/package.keywords. See man portage or the handbook for details.

openoffice-2.0.0 is unstable on most archs; what are your ACCEPT_KEYWORDS?

Aaaah. Based on posts I read a while back I thought it was in the stable branch. I guess all these people had ~x86 by default.

With the ~x86 I do indeed see it now.

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -s openoffice

I've been burned in the past with unstable stuff. I'll wait for it to become stable. Thanks!

May you please edit the top ost and add [solved] to the subject line? BTW, If you decide to use it (or another package) while not stable don't use ACCEPT_KEYWORDS, use /etc/portage/package.keywords instead.
