Hello,
the KDE stable version in portage is still at 3.4.1. What is the reason that portage did not follow the minor upgrade to recent 3.4.3 which has been out for a pretty long time?

Thanks,

Florian

Probably the same reason the debian folk's stable version of kde is still in the 3.2 series. "Stable" means it'll be stable. This means well tested, which implies OLD.

To use unstable packages, that is, packages that aren't as tested on gentoo, add ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" to your /etc/make.conf, or individually list packages in /etc/portage/package.keywords.

I fixed it for you. You forgot the x in x86!

There's a bug for getting 3.4.3 marked stable so it won't be long unless some blocking packages come up.

3.5.0 is scheduled for a final release this wednesday November 23rd.

KDE 3.4.3 is now marked stable for SPARC but x86 is still 3.4.1 Its hard to imagine that there are so many more testers with SPARC than x86.
