Hibernation has reappeared on Macs with the new high-resolution powerbooks, and there are scripts to get it working on other mac laptops. I like to hibernate when I'm moving from one AC outlet to another, more distant AC outlet, so I tried it. All went well, until...

Last night, I sent my OS X into hibernation for the trip home. Apparently something went wrong, and the machine shut down rather than hibernating. When I woke it, it booted straight into OS X. It seems the botched attempt to put OS X into "Safe Sleep" blew away the yaboot stuff, and I had to perform the Option key boot trick to get into Linux. Annoying, but I'm also relieved nothing worse happened. Be careful.
