Hi.
I'm installing gentoo on my laptop and facing a problem.
Everything went fine from booting the installcd to emerge -e system and compiling the kernel.
After emerging and setting up grub I reboot and get :

Code:

  * Checking root filesystem ...
ext2fs_check_if_mount: No such file of directory while determining whether /dev/
ROOT is mounted.
fsck.ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/ROOT
/dev/ROOT:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem.

[....]

  * Filesystem couldn't be fixed :(                                              [ !! ]
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):

I don't understand that

I've one hdd with :
hda3 Linux ext2
hda4 Linux swap

Hi.

You have forgotten to edit /etc/fstab. You've got to replace the /dev/ROOT, /dev/BOOT and /dev/SWAP entries with your disk partitions.
You need to boot with the live-cd, mount the partitions and edit /etc/fstab.
