I seem to be having the same problem, but this post might help you (the solution was basically updating portage). I don't know if it will work for me, but it did for the other posters. Good luck!

Well now that I have updated portage, everything seems to be working fine for me. Hope it does the trick! Post back with your results, of course. So long for now.
