Here what happens:
Code:
my-comp refael # emerge -t amarok
>>> --tree implies --pretend... adding --pretend to options.

These are the packages that I would merge, in reverse order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild  N    ] media-sound/amarok-1.3.6
[ebuild  N    ]  media-libs/taglib-1.4
[ebuild  N    ]  kde-base/kdemultimedia-arts-3.4.1
[ebuild  N    ]  kde-base/konqueror-3.4.3
[ebuild  N    ]   kde-base/kdebase-kioslaves-3.4.3
[ebuild  N    ]    dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.20

I dont want Konqueror installed, what should I do?
Here is my emerge info:
Code:
my-comp refael # emerge info

Run
Quote:
emerge -pv amarok

and note the USE flags.
To my knowledge, amarok wants konqueror to be able to display its inline media info browser thingy.
Simply clear that USE flag.

Get rid of kde as a USE flag. I have -kde in my make.conf, with USE="kde" I get a whole load of KDE packages for installation:

Code:
[root@compy chris $] USE="kde" emerge -pv amarok

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Yep, that's helped.

Moved from Desktop Environments to Duplicate Threads in favour of GF8: Why is <y> getting pulled in when I emerge <x>?
