I have 61 config files in /etc need updating.
1 config files in /usr/lib/X11/xkb need updating.

Whats the best way to do this as i have noticed some of my programs are not working as they where before i emerge --update --ask world.

I have looked at the config help but i couldnot see a option that was best to take.

try typing:

Code:

etc-update

I think there's another, newer, command for doing this too, but I don't recall/have never used it.

What is the best option ,

-3 to auto merge all remaining files)
(-5 to auto-merge AND not use 'mv -i'

I think 'dispatch-conf' is the better option, honestly. The interface is much less... shall we say "sparse", and if you edit the dispatch-conf.conf to use 'colordiff' instead of 'diff', the output becomes much easier to read. It also supports rcs, so if you accidentally replace a config file, you've got an automatic backup.
