This is my second time installing Gentoo on me mini and i am getting the same errors on compiling.
basically the install goes fine, After both installs i've done the same process which is to

emerge --update world && env-update && source /etc/profile && emerge kdebase-meta

On both occassions it fails compiling kdelibs, Saying it's either hardware or OS and can't be recreated. re-emerging kdebase-meta again and there's no problem.

However, thats where the trouble begins, Once in kde, I emerge kmail and get diff errors on all the deps, one of which i'm looking at-at the moment is on libkdenetwork which just says 'Failed postinst: 2816' . Again re-emerging kmail works upuntill it's reached compiling kmail which is where it hits a wall and won't compile.

For reference:

The first install was on the standard PPC profile while my current one is on the G4
My make.conf is :

Code:
CFLAGS="-O2 -mtune=powerpc -pipe"
CHOST="powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"
USE="X gtk qt kde alsa oss cdr dvd dvdr altivec"

GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.blueyonder.co.uk ftp://mirrors.blueyonder.co.uk/mirrors/gentoo http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/"
SYNC="rsync://rsync.uk.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"

I don't know what else to include as i have know idea what to look for when it comes to compiling 8O

OS X works fine on it, and it's seen little use in it's 6 month life so i don't think it's hardware.

Anyhelp is greatly appreciated.

Here's the output from kmail
Code:
powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu-g++: Internal error: Segmentation fault (program cc1pl us)

Could this be down to memory? or the slow 4200rpm HD?
It's got 512mb of memory and i've noticed the main memory does fill at it's peak but doesn't touch the swap.
