I'm fairly new to Linux, and only just installed Gentoo today.

After installing Gentoo (by following the handbook), I rebooted and encountered this error:
Quote:
fsck.ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/ROOT

Followed the handbook to the point, only editing what was needed. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :-)

You need to edit /etc/fstab and change "/dev/ROOT", et. al. to the actual devices. (i.e. /dev/hda3)
