i just upgraded the portage to the latest available version 2.1_pre3 and ever since eix has been giving weird outputs
Code:
eix eix
* app-portage/eix
     Available versions:  !0.3.0-r1 !0.3.0-r2 !0.5.0
     Installed:           0.5.0
     Homepage:            SRC_URI=http://dev.gentoo.org/~hollow/distfiles/eix-0.5.0.tar.bz2
     Description:         RDEPEND=sys-apps/portage bash-completion? ( || ( app-admin/eselect app-shells/bash-completion-config ) )

what's wrong?

thanks in advance
Saurabh

create /etc/eixrc
with
PORTDIR_CACHE_METHOD=backport
in it.
Portage uses a new caching method. This will inform eix about it.
after that, you need to run.

That would explain why things have sped up greatly.

I am affected by a similar problem in Kuroo. Does anyone know if the root cause is the same? If so, does Kuroo support this new caching method yet? I'm not having any luck searching on Google.
