Are you sure you are using a ppc cd? Or are you trying to boot an x86 cd on a ppc machine?

I would say, because Ubuntu and Kubuntu installs cannot read CD, that you should attempt to burn with another burner and/or application. If you can burn a CD on a known good burning environment and it still cannot read the CD, see if you can do a fresh install of OS 9 or OS X. If the same issue occurs then, I would think that the issue is with the drive.

I will try that but i don think that is the problem. The Ubuntu CDs are the official factory pressed and they have the same problem. Also i did a clean install of Mac OS X before atempting to install Gento and Ubuntu.

something corrupt in open firmware probably. update it and see if that works

or it might be a borked cd drive.

Can you boot up your mac with your OS X disc? If not, your third party disc drive is the problem.

Hello again, i succesfully installed Fedora Core 4 and YellowDog so i asume the Issue is inherited from Debian, Hope Gentoo or Debian fix it soon but for now i'm kinda tired of dealing with GNU/Linux.

Best Wishes
