I've used xev to get some keycodes, and put them in /etc/sysctl.conf (for mouse button emulation), and they just don't work. xev is returning invalid keycodes, I think. Also, I assume this is a ppc problem, because it works fine on my x86 box.

Anyone else had this problem?

You should run showkey in a console, xev gives you X key codes which are not necessarily the same as kernel codes (as you are painfully aware by now). I am not sure whether this is PPC-specific.

Aha! Thank you very much, showkey did the trick.
