Hallo all,
I'm having a problem with compilation of Totem-1.2.1 and gnome-2.12.2.
Totem fails with:
Code:
/bin/sh ../libtool --tag=CC --mode=link i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc  -Wall    -Wchar-subscripts -Wmissing-declarations -Wmissing-prototypes   -Wnested-externs -Wpointer-arith        -Wcast-align -Wsign-compare     -fno-strict-aliasing     -O3 -march=pentium4 -funroll-loops -fprefetch-loop-arrays -pipe   -o totem  egg-recent-model.o egg-recent-item.o egg-recent-view.o egg-recent-view-gtk.o egg-recent-util.o totem.o totem-remote.o totem-preferences.o totem-stock-icons.o totem-scrsaver.o totem-options.o totem-playlist.o totem-screenshot.o totem-session.o totem-sidebar.o totem-skipto.o totem-menu.o totem-time-label.o totem-uri.o totem-statusbar.o totem-gromit.o bacon-volume.o ev-sidebar.o -lX11 -Wl,--export-dynamic -pthread -lglade-2.0 -lgnome-desktop-2 -lgnomeui-2 -lSM -lICE -lstartup-notification-1 -lbonoboui-2 -lgnome-keyring -lxml2 -lgnomecanvas-2 -lgnome-2 -lpopt -lart_lgpl_2 -lpangoft2-1.0 -lgtk-x11-2.0 -lgdk-x11-2.0 -latk-1.0 -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0 -lpangocairo-1.0 -lpango-1.0 -lcairo -lgnomevfs-2 -lbonobo-2 -lgobject-2.0 -lbonobo-activation -lxine -lz -lnsl -lpthread -lrt -lgconf-2 -lORBit-2 -lm -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lgthread-2.0 -lglib-2.0   -lX11 -lXtst   -lmusicbrainz -lstdc++ -lm   -lXxf86vm -lX11 -lXrandr -lXrender  plparse/libtotem-plparser.la backend/libbaconvideowidget.la libbaconpropertiespage.la libbaconmessageconnection.la -ldbus-glib-1 -ldbus-1 -lglib-2.0

Gnome gives something similar.
I dont know what I've messed up but the pathes libtool has figured out are definitely wrong.
I'll append my "emerge info" and "gcc-config" if this information is helpful:
Code:
# emerge info

Check this out:

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gcc-upgrading.xml

under "4. Common Pitfalls".

There are also several other threads about this problem if you search for "libstdc++".

You're right. It was the fix_libtool_files.sh issue. :oops:
FAQ GF18 gives good hints.
Thanks a lot.

Duplicated because of FAQ GF18, as above.
