Which stage file did you use to install with? It sounds like you might have used one for a more advanced processor than you have, so some programs could have been built with instructions your processor doesn't support...

The problem is that you mounted /var as noexec, however portage needs to execute stuff from /var/tmp/portage, so either change the mount options or set PORTAGE_TMPDIR to somewhere else in make.conf.

Oh, Hi, what a surprise!
I am just reading all the threads with that "Bad Interpreter: Permission Denied" Problem.

It seems to occur very often, how come?? Is it, that some mobile processors, which many people have now, cannot compile? Or is it a problem with these stage 3 tarballs?

I described my problem here, and it seems that it is NOT the processor. If you wanna help me, go https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-441575-highlight-interpreter+permission+denied.html .
It is a funny thing about the live cd, but I don't quite understand, what the problem is. If people could answer please, the problem seems to be common, and it drives me nuts as well... ;)

thanks, eis

Did you actually read this thread? The solution has been stated pretty clear (it has nothing to do with your cpu or the stages).

--some more info--

i have been told this is most likely not a hardened issue on some of the irc channels.
thus i am here.
