Hey all!

I have installed the new Linux Kernel 2.6.15 for BCM43XX support.
Now i can't eject my cd's with the eject button on my Powerbook G4 15"
With the older Kernel (2.6.12) everythings works fine.

/etc/pbbuttonsd.conf
Code:
# [MODULE CDROM]
dev_CDROM             = "/dev/cdrom"
EjectCDKey            = 161
EjectCDKeyDelay       = 0

Any solutions?

Two things to check:

1. Make sure you're using udev 079 or newer, it's a requirement for 2.6.15.
2. Make sure that /dev/cdrom actually exists and it's not /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 or something else.

Hey!

Yes i have udev 084 installed and the cdrom is under /dev/cdrom available.

When i run showkey and then press the eject key, showkey has no reaction. Same problem with the Fn-Key.

udev seems to be screwy with the newer kernels. I had a similar problem, check my resolution: here

He

I think the problem is that the eject key isn't initialized by the kernel.

Because when i run the programm show key the eject key has no function.

well, I don't know about my eject button (didn't use any cds the last time..) , but to trigger the F12 key I gotta press Fn+F12 since sometime (switching to 2.6.15-gentoo?) and pressing F1 darkens the display like in OS X although pbbuttonsd is running

a behavior i don't like but it doesn't bother me enough to search for the problem.. :roll:

well, did you try pressing Fn+F12 to eject/with showkey?
