OK I'm trying to help serialmonkey debug a problem on the Powerbook with the Asus WL-167g usb wifi device. He is asking for output from the SYSRQ -t.

I've read the docs regarding this /usr/src/linux/Documentation/sysrq.txt, concerning the Mac the sequence is <alt><F13> or <alt><print screen> or <alt><command key>

Since I'm using the Powerbook which doesn't have a print screen key or a F13 key I'm using <alt><command key><t> but with no result and yes I have all the requirements for this to work included in the kernel.

Any ideas, JoseJX?

Sure. :)

You have two options:

From the magic sysreq docs, bind another key to the expected sysrq code:
http://lxr.linux.no/source/Documentation/sysrq.txt#L131

Or

Patch the source to change the keycode. Use showkey to generate the desired keycode (from the console only, then in /usr/src/linux/arch/ppc/kernel/setup.c, change the definition of SYSRQ_KEY to your desired key.

I have a 12" iBook which has a compact keyboard layout, so I patch the adbhid driver to send Fn+Esc as PrintScrn/Sysrq: http://catmur.co.uk/svn/repos/gentoo/patches/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources/fn-esc-sysreq.patch
