I tried to create a new partiton and wanted to format it with reiserfs.
I made a little mistake and now I formated my /usr partition.
Is there a way to restore it as it was?
I tried it with dd and reiserfsck.
It worked, but I got for every file a new folder in the lost and found-Directory, so I cant use it.

I'm pretty sure this qualifies as a big mistake.

I hate to say it but I think you are out of luck. However, try this site.

I've never found a satisfactory way to recover data from a formatted partition.

However, when I mess around with partitions which are being created after an install, I have found a convenient way to keep from making this mistake: Mount all the partitions you don't want to be damaged. Most of your partition managing tools don't like working with mounted volumes.

I've tried this way already. If I just needed the files, this would be no problem. With the link mentioned by ant it is possible to get the data back, but not the the strukture of the Directories.
At the Moment I'm installing a new System...
This is the hard way to lern more about Linux.
