Does anyone know if it's possible to switch profiles from amd64/2005.1/no-multilib to amd64/2005.1? I'd like to switch to multilib without rebuilding from scratch if possible.

On my first couple tries (after pointing /etc/make.profile to /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/amd64/2005.1), re-emerging both gcc and glibc fail horribly.
