Hi All,

When my system fully boots and I'm presented with a login prompt, it greets me with the message "This is gentoo.(none)", followed by the kernel version, etc. I assume that "(none)" is it's believed domain name, but I can't seem to change this anywhere. In /etc/conf.d/domainname I have OVERRIDE=1 and DNSDOMAIN="server". I also have domainname being run at boot and default. (Is that right?!?)

So:
1.) Should (none) be appearing? If not, how do I fix it?
2.) Should domainname really be running at both boot and default runlevels?

Sorry if this doesn't belong in networking, but I don't know where else would be more appropriate.

Thanks!
