I can sucessfully bring the wireless interface up manually but it will not come up on boot. It does not appear to be picking up the essid from the /etc/conf.d/wireless file. I have defined preferred_aps ( "XXXX" ).

When I manually do iwconfig eth1 essid xxxx it finds the network and then I can ifconfig eth1 up and dhcpcd eth1. I then have networking. When I boot up iwconfig fails to grab the essid.

Any suggestions.
