hi.
has anybody else had this problem and/or know ho to solve it?

Code:
emerge jasper
Calculating dependencies     -  ... done!
>>> Emerging (1 of 1) media-libs/jasper-1.701.0 to /
>>> checksums files   ;-) jasper-1.701.0.ebuild
>>> checksums files   ;-) files/digest-jasper-1.701.0
>>> checksums src_uri ;-) jasper-1.701.0.zip
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking jasper-1.701.0.zip to /var/tmp/portage/jasper-1.701.0/work
>>> Source unpacked.
>>> Compiling source in /var/tmp/portage/jasper-1.701.0/work/jasper-1.701.0 ...

./configure --prefix=/usr --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --datadir=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib --enable-libjpeg --enable-opengl --enable-shared --build=i686-pc-linux-gnu
/usr/lib/portage/bin/ebuild.sh: ./configure: /bin/sh: bad interpreter: Permission denied

  ebuild.sh, line 971:   Called src_compile
  jasper-1.701.0.ebuild, line 21:   Called econf 'compile' '--enable-libjpeg' '--enable-opengl'

!!! econf failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.

i have seen another emerge jasper failure but it was regarding libGL.la
i treid USE="-jpeg -opengl" just in case but received an almost identical error.
Code:
jasper-1.701.0.ebuild, line 21:   Called econf 'compile' '--enable-libjpeg' '--enable-opengl'

changed to,
Code:
jasper-1.701.0.ebuild, line 21:   Called econf 'compile' '--disable-libjpeg' '--disable-opengl'

Hi!!

Cagezero, I have a similar Problem. I get the same error message, that is:

"lib/portage/bin/ebuild.sh: ./configure /bin/sh: bad interpreter: Permission denied. "

or, (I got another one, when I wanted to re-emerge glibc):

"/usr/portage/portage/glibc/glibc-2.3.5-r2.ebuild:
/home/portage/portage/glibc/glibc-2.3.5-r2/work/glibc-2.3.5/configure: /bin/sh: bad interpreter: Permission denied:"

The funny thing is, these error messages appear every single time I try to emerge anything. I installed my system just yesterday night. And When I was in the environment of the live cd, and then chrooted in my new system, I could emerge and compile without problems. But as I booted the new Kernel, I get this error every time. I use gentoo 2006.

If I boot from the live CD again, and chroot to my new system, I can emerge again, even bigger things like xorg-x11. So where is the difference between the live cd environment and my other environment?
And another funny thing. I tried out Suse 10.0 because I could get it for free, and it uses the same boot manager, grub, but of course a different Kernel. And there I got the SAME error message when I tried to install a cisco vpn-client.... ???

I did an installation 2 weeks before with 2005.1. Same error message after installation. I don't get it ;) And I had a gentoo running on this Inspiron 6000 for half a year WITHOUT that prob...

So if anyone has a clue... Please help me ;)
