Hi there!

I'm trying to install gentoo on an old MMX 200 box with a 2.5gb HD. I partitioned it to have a root dir with 2.2gb. I installed everything according to the handbook, using the minimal CD and downloading the stage3 afterwards. Now I downloaded Xorg (it seems that it was already installed, but I dunno) and I'm watching as it compiles. However, /dev/hda3 has only 50 mb left! What could possibly be using all that space? Does gentoo deletes portage source files after the compilation is done? What could I do to mine a little more free space?

Thank you very much!

no sourcesfiles are not deleted automaticly.. try
Code:

rm /usr/portage/distfiles/* && rm -r /var/tmp/portage/*

that should give you some space back..
