I hv iBook and alsa audiosystem. If im trying to record smth, the quality is very bad. whats a problem ?

Maybe the levels are to high. Use 'alsamixer' in your console and play aroud with the settings for a bit. Maybe that helps.

what drivers i need for iBook G4 ?

SOLUTION:
many applications don't understand that on PPC platform is another, reversed than on x86, bit order.
You need to configure such application to work with smallEndian
