I just updated to x11-xorg-7, and everything has gone to hell. After spending a good four hours compiling, forcing revdep-rebuild to behave, and re-emerging all xfce packages on my system, i'm still having no luck getting x11 to start xfce4(-session)

I looked through all the xfce4 related threads, and couldn't find anyone with a similar issue.

Code:

kwinter@therebelcountry ~ $ cat startx.log

        Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org
        to make sure that you have the latest version.

The program 'xfce4-session' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
  (Details: serial 141 error_code 1 request_code 153 minor_code 26)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
The application 'xfce-mcs-manager' lost its connection to the display :0.0;
most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed
the application.

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc/" ref
count is 2, should be 1; fixing.

With an identical xorg.conf, it will successfully get into the gui if i change
Code:
exec xfce4-session
to
Code:
exec twm
I beleive that eliminates my xorg.conf from the picture. I have direct rendering enabled successfully, if that matters.

Also, when running gaim, i receive similar errors. Gaim starts up correctly, allowing me to place a connection window, followed by a buddy list window. But as soon as i start a conversation (or get info or check preferences) and place that window (window placing through twm of course), i receive the following:
Code:

$ gaim
The program 'gaim' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.

Programs like Firefox and mplayer(commandline) do nothing of the sort.

Is anyone experiencing this?
