Hi,

I;'ve tried following the following links to get this to work

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-445722-highlight-resolve+virtual.html
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-429607.html

but still it's not working.

Code:

>>> Updating Portage cache:   88%!!! Cannot resolve a virtual package name to an ebuild.
!!! This is a bug, please report it. (virtual/libintl-0)

I've installed portage-20060123.tar.bz2 to /usr and set up the make.profile link:

Code:

/etc/make.profile -> ../usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2006.0

But still, I get this error when I do a "emerge sync"

What's going on?

Thanks,
Luke.

You failed to post emerge --info
Not using an ancient version of portage might help.

Like I said in my previous post, I downloaded the latest version of the portage tree.

I tried this (from one of those linked topics) and it seemed to fix the problem:

Code:

emerge --oneshot portage
