I'm emerging the app-misc/mc without the "USE='samba'", and it's working, but when I add the samba keyword...

[ebuild R ] app-misc/mc-4.6.0-r14 +7zip +X +gpm +ncurses +nls +pam +samba* +slang -unicode 0 kB

It says the following:

You must know that this use flag causes some troubles:/ Just remove it. BTW why use MAKEOPTS="-j3" on single processor machine? It can make compilation slower. (-j2 is OK).

Are you telling me that I should remove it from the mc package or should I remove it on the make.conf with "-samba"?

The -j3 is because this machine has 2 pentium III.

Thank you very much for the quick answering

From USE flags of course. You can set some globally in make.conf or per package in /etc/portege/package.use.

Moved to Duplicate Threads.

See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-444959.html and also try the ~arch version of mc.
