Anyone have any idea if I'm missing an app or some other dependancy, or is it an issue with KDE itself?

Thanks,

No!
problem was not solved instead.
Doing MAKEOPTS="" emerge kdeaddons makes the same result:
Code:

First, you're emerging kdeaddons-3.5.3, while the original poster (and bug report) were for kdeaddons-3.5.2. So there may be an entirely different problem that you're seeing.

Second, unfortunately you did not copy and paste the actual error messages that led up to:
Code:
make[4]: *** [noatun_oblique.la] Error 1

... so there's no way of telling whether you are seeing the same problem, or a different one.

The problem raised in the original thread was solved by MAKEOPTS="". I suspect that you are seeing a different problem and would suggest opening a new forum thread, referring back to this one but saying that the solution for kdeaddons-3.5.2 did not address the problem that you're seeing.
