When I try booting the installation CD, I get this message:"Release keys to contiue!". I've tried this with 2 keyboards, and it still happens. What could this be?

I can't really help you without more info. What kind of mac? What InstallCD? Version? What happens exactly with that message? What are you doing to get the message? (Holding down C? Going into OF?)

The CD I'm using is the PPC32 2006.0. The Mac i'm using is an iMac G5. When I boot(holding C), I get the normal yaboot prompt, so I boot ppc32 . It then goes back into OF and I get this message:
Code:
To continue booting, type "mac-boot" and press return.
To shut down, type "shut-down" and press return.

Release keys to continue!

The trouble is, I'm not holding down the Op+Alt+O+F thing. I've checked this extensively, and found similar problems, but never solutions.

I bet this is a n00bish question, but I've never found it answered.

You need to use the ppc64 installcd, the G5 is a 64 bit processor. Try that instead and see if it works.

Thanks!
Though seems to have booted, the screen goes totally blank after the kernel is supposed to have loaded. What does this mean? Could it be a video problem?

Try booting with video=ofonly apended to the kernel (type it in after the kernel name in yaboot)

What video card is in that machine?
