http://redsun.hopto.org/open/doc/dhcpcd/syslog.txt - /var/log/everything

I can't get dhcpcd working.
It was working a couple of days ago, but now... No idea why, but it's just stopped.

Since then I've upgraded my kernel rebuilt my wireless tools, and torn my hair out. None of these have stopped dhcpcd from timing out.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with the wireless card, the drivers, or my router, but I can successfully run "iwlist scan" and get my access-point's information. I can also run airodump, and aireplay, but still can't get a dhcp lease.

Please help me out.

Your pastebin posts will disappear in the near future. That means that people won't be able to use them to help you unless you post them somewhere where they won't be deleted after a couple of hours.

Thanks for the tip.
Just don't like cluttering up the post with huge output.
I'll edit the post to link to somewhere else.

Well if no-one has had a similar experience, could a guru at least point me in the direction of a way to diagnose the problem propperly?

Please enable debug support with bcm43xx so we can see what's going on.

I've just compiled in debug-fs support for my kernel, and debugging support for bcm43xx. How can I access the debugging info?

Ah, there appears to be some in /var/log everything:

Code:

tail --lines=80 /var/log/everytning/current

Well. I found the problem (I think, although it could just bea wacky coincedence).

My new housemate brought over his router, and I hooked it up. Wireless is now working.

Just goes to show that diagnosis is near impossible in a network with no degrees of freedom.

One question though, should I disable debuggin? Is it causing much overhead?

It's noisy, but if you have a problem (which you still might) it's hard to tell what's going wrong without it.
