With 2.6.17-rc2 with alsa module compiled, i2c compiled, etc etc (the same configuration work with 2.6.16) my sound card doesn't work.

I tried to update alsa package (alsa-header, alsa-lib and alsa-utils), but the issue is still present.

Is known bug of this release?

Thanks

Yes, it's a known bug. Ben H. on
the debian list says that there's
a patch but that it hasn't made it
to Linus yet.

I think this is the patch that should fix the problem. It should go in for rc3.

If it doesn't work, wait the rc3 with this patch included, or write to Paulus and get from it the working patch, if you don't wait

Thanks, but it doesn't matter - it is fixed in the latest git.
