Hello. I have a problem with the emerge command. Some packages just can't be installed, there is error like this :
Code:

!!! ERROR : kde-base/konsole-3.4.3
!!! Function kde_src_compile, line 226, Exitcode 1
!!! Died running emake, kde_src_compile : make
!!! If you need support, post all not only this message bla bla...

I can't post everything, couse the package with this problem was... konsole. So I dont have a konsole in KDE. :)
The last line with the make before these messages was :
Code:

make : ** [all] Error 2

I was having such a problems with other programs after my emerge --update --deep --newuse world , with kde-libs or something. Since then, some packages comes out with this error.
I think I'll have to reinstall Gentoo, but I want to know why is this issue.
Thank you in advance. :)

You need to post the topmost error plus some additional lines, if you want to have some help. There really is no other way.

Well, I'm afraid we can't help you if we can't see the cause of the problem. Your emerge --info output is also helpful.

If you don't have konsole installed, you should have xterm available.

Thank you very much for the fast answers. :)
I have found some copyed lines from an old post for the same problem, here they are :
Code:

make[3]: *** [libkaboodlepart.la] Error 1
make[3]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/gcc/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.la'
 make[3]: *** [kaboodle] Error 1
 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kaboodle-3.4.3/work/kaboodle-3.4.3/kaboodle'
 make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kaboodle-3.4.3/work/kaboodle-3.4.3/kaboodle'
 make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kaboodle-3.4.3/work/kaboodle-3.4.3'
 make: *** [all] Error 2

And another one :
Code:

,--allow-shlib-undefined -R /usr/kde/3.4/lib -R /usr/kde/3.4/lib -R /usr/qt/3/lib -R /usr/lib  kfile_dvi.lo -lkio
grep: /usr/lib/gcc/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/gcc/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/gcc/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4/libstdc++.la' is not a valid libtool archive
 make[3]: *** [kfile_dvi.la] Error 1
 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdegraphics-kfile-plugins-3.4.3/work/kdegraphics-kfile-plugins-3.4.3/kfile-plugins/dvi'
 make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdegraphics-kfile-plugins-3.4.3/work/kdegraphics-kfile-plugins-3.4.3/kfile-plugins'
 make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdegraphics-kfile-plugins-3.4.3/work/kdegraphics-kfile-plugins-3.4.3'
 make: *** [all] Error 2

 !!! ERROR: kde-base/kdegraphics-kfile-plugins-3.4.3 failed.
 !!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 226, Exitcode 2
 !!! died running emake, kde_src_compile:make
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

I think this is the same problem.
I can't post my emerge info, because I can't copy/paste it. :(
But if you need some information about specific variable, tell me the variable and I'll rewrite the information. :)
Thank you from now. :)

Aha. In that case, see this FAQ: Emerge fails after upgrading gcc. libstdc++.la missing. You'll need to use --oldarch, as the CHOST part of the libstdc++.la path looks wrong as well (i386 instead of i686).

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads.
