Hi.

I have an iBook g4 1.33 GHz. I don't know which network card I have (lspci -v does not seem to show). I use pbbuttonsd and the sleep function works great.

But when it wakes from sleep, I must do
/etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart
manually to get network working again. I use dhcp, and I don't have any problems with network or dhcp but this. When I use wireless, it's exactly the same, I must restart the card.

How can I make it restart it self?

Thanks!

The network card is SunGEM. I think I spoke with you on IRC about this. Can you provide your dmesg and kernel config? Perhaps there's something amiss.

Just a fyi, posts on pastebin are automatically removed after a few hours, so it's best not to post the links to forums.
Anyway, from your dmesg:
Quote:

eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full-duplex.

This indicates that the network card is powered up and sees the physical link. Can you please check ifconfig, route, etc. to make sure that your network is actually up again after resuming? What are the symptoms? Can you ping by IP? Or is it just DNS that isn't working?

From now, I will refer to eth0 (ethernet) if nothing else is mentioned. I can debug wifi after that.

yes, I see that it detects a link. But ifconfig does not show eth0 after sleeping.
$ ping 192.168.1.1
connect: Network is unreachable

Just tell me if you want the info again. Thanks.
