I've just tried to install Getoo on my G5. I set up the parition just as the documents said. (becouse i didn't have any important stuff on OSX and i wanted to make thins as easy as possible)

This is my parition table:

/dev/sda1 - Parition Map
/dev/sda2 - Apple Bootstrap
/dev/sda3 - Swap
/dev/sda4 - Root

Now, what should i write in the fstab?

Here's the example in the manual:

Code:
/dev/hda1   /boot     ext2    defaults,noatime     1 2
/dev/hda2   none      swap    sw                   0 0
/dev/hda3   /         ext3    noatime              0 1

none        /proc     proc    defaults             0 0
none        /dev/shm  tmpfs   nodev,nosuid,noexec  0 0

/dev/cdroms/cdrom0    /mnt/cdrom    auto      noauto,user    0 0

The problem is that it's for a PC. Can someone plz tell me what i should write in my fstab?

And yep, i've never edited a fstab before, atleast not on a Mac. All i know is that it's important that i do it right...

What did you format your root partition as?

The fstab is pretty much the same on ppc. I removed the /boot line because it's useless on ppc and chaned hda to sda since that's what you indicated before. Depending on what filesystem you're using for root, you may need to change the ext3 to reflect your system.

Good luck!
