Hi,

I played a lot with mol, but since a few months it is no longer working....
When I start startmol -X (Mac OS X 10.4), there is only a white screen...
I've tried recompiling mol, and now here is the output :
Code:

then a lot unmapped...

I made a lot of changes since my last successfull running mol :
* upgrade to last MacOS X 10.4
* gcc 4.1
* glibc 2.4
....

What can I do ?

Thanks.

You could try setting a video-mode with molvconfig. There appears to be no video-mode set.

Thanks for the quick reply.

First, I've tried with molvconfig and setting the appropriate video mode into molrc.video :
Code:

resolution:             1024/768/75     # width/height/Hz
depth:                  24
..
enable_console_video:   yes

start_on_console:       yes             # switch to console initially
autoswitch_console:     yes

but...
Code:

Try unloading the MOL module, that's usually the fix for the RAM errors you're seeing.

Sorry to say then, the only other way I know of to fix that is a reboot.

Yes, after a reboot, there is no longer any ram or instruction error, thanks!

But...

Still white screen...

Hmm, one possibility is that after an OSX system update, it usually takes quite a bit longer to start than usual as it profiles everything. It could have just been that I guess.

Once mol was working.

But when I start it now with startmol -X I get a black screen with console_video (with no return, only working ascii mouse pointer and clean black console, I have to reboot). With xvideo I get no window at all.
